What I provide as your Birth Doula

I am the person in the room whose only job is you.

Not the baby's heart rate, not the chart, not the shift change. You. I provide emotional support, physical comfort, and the information you need to make confident decisions, and I've done it across two continents and over 100 births.

What you can expect from me

Your modesty, protected without asking twice.
I request female providers on your behalf. I manage who is in the room and when the door stays closed. I know which Chicago hospitals accommodate this readily and which need pressing.

Your husband, made effective.
I don't replace him. Most husbands badly want to help and don't know how. My job is to show him, and to make sure the nursing staff expects his involvement rather than working around it.

Nifas taken seriously.
The forty days have a real shape: bleeding, prayer, rest, and a house full of family with food and opinions. I prepare you for the actual version, not the pamphlet version.

Photographs, without a stranger in the room.
I'm also a birth photographer. That means the person holding the camera is the person who already knows what you'd never want photographed, and the one who will put it down without being asked.

How it works

1. We meet for coffee
Pick your favorite shop and I'll meet you there, or we can do it virtually if that's easier. Complimentary, no obligation. You're interviewing me.

2. Take a few days.
I'd rather you be certain than quick. If you find you have a full-body “yes”, I'll send my contract to review.

3. Your date is held.
A 50% deposit reserves your due date on my calendar, with the balance due four weeks before you're due. Payment plans are available to every family.

4. We prepare.
Two prenatal visits: one to get ready for birth, one to get ready for postpartum. Most people plan the birth and are ambushed by what comes after.

5. I go on call at 38 weeks.
From week 38 through week 42 I am yours, 24/7, with unlimited access by text, phone, and email.

Available Packages

Every doula packages come inclusive of 10 professionally captured and edited photos. As a birth photographer, it brings me so much joy to photograph birth, and I feel this is a natural extension of my services.
